As everyone knows from the news, and/or from reading utility bills; the cost of energy is increasing at a rapid pace. Innovative energy saving solutions are needed now more than at any other time in history. A key step in determining how to reduce energy costs is an Energy Audit.
Even if you have performed an Energy Audit in the past, Energy Audits should be updated on a periodic basis as utility rates change and new technology is developed. For example an Energy Audit that was prepared 10 years ago probably didn’t consider the use of CPF lamps – now they are considered significant part of an energy reduction strategy.
CHS works with consultants to perform Energy Audits. Our consultants are experienced professional engineers RESNET and CEM certified. CHS has found that engineers are very good at analyzing data and systems, but communicating the recommendations in a clear and concise manner is not necessarily their strength. CHS provides value by summarizing the engineering reports and integrating their recommendations into a holistic approach that considers funding sources and the needs of affordable housing residents.
