CHS has concentrated its design efforts on "Low Income Housing Renovation." CHS currently has architectural design contracts with Butler, Clermont, Cincinnati, Lorain, Warren and Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authorities to complete architectural and engineering design projects. These projects included modification of; apartments, mechanical systems, siding, roofing, facades, windows, doors, handicap accessibility, lead based paint and asbestos abatement, conversion of smaller size units into larger sized units, demolition of buildings and units to reduce density, energy conservation measures and other corrections and enhancements to the physical condition of the housing. CHS's experience in low-income housing allows it to make wise decisions concerning the design, materials used and basically what works in low-income rental housing and what doesn't. CHS has concentrated its design efforts on low income housing since the start of the firm. The principals of the firm worked for and with housing providers prior to starting the firm. Their attention to detail and concern for the end result can be seen in the vast projects that have been completed. CHS places great importance on the examination of the existing conditions. The firm spends a great deal of its preliminary design time reviewing and inspecting the existing conditions of the project. CHS believes that this attention to detail along with extensive communication with the owner's, maintenance staffs and residents sets it apart from other design firms. . |
